PIERO MELDOLESI

Pietro Meldolesi, born in 1962, graduated in violin at the Conservatoire “F. Morlacchi” of Perugia in 1985 under the guidance of A. M. Cotogni and in 1991 specialized with C. Romano at the Accademia Internazionale “Lorenzo Perosi” of Biella. He also studied recorder with M. Miessen, K. Boeke, P. Capirci, with whom he graduated in 1995 at the Conservatoire “O. Respighi” of Latina. As violinist, he also studied at the Music School in Fiesole attending several courses with  G. Prencipe, P. Farulli and with the Trio di Trieste, taking part in the tours of the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in 1984 and in 1987.
From 1992 to 1998 he was a member of the Orchestra Regionale del Lazio, also as recorder soloist. He subsequently dedicated exclusively to music on period instruments and, as violinist, violist and recorder player, he played, also as soloist, with important early music ensembles as Concerto Italiano, Modo Antiquo, Accademia per Musica, Camerata Anxanum, Insieme Strumentale di Roma, Il Complesso Barocco, Ensemble Aurora, etc.
He performed in prestigious festivals and theatres in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Holland, Croatia, Hungary, Turkey, Mexico, Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Cile and U.S.A., and recorded for Stradivarius, Bongiovanni, Opus 111, Musica Immagine, Capriccio, Naïve. He teaches recorder at the Conservatoire “A. Casella” in L’Aquila.
