LAURA COROLLA
Laura Corolla, born in 1977, studied violin at the Conservatoire “G. Verdi” of Milan under the guidance of O. Scilla with whom she graduated with distinction in 1995. Becoming interested in the performance practice on original instruments, she attended summer courses in Urbino with L. Mangiocavallo and E. Gatti, and played in the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO). Since 1996 she has exclusively studied baroque violin under the guidance of Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and since 2000 has regularly been playing with several important ensembles as Accademia Bizantina, Talens Lyriques, Ensemble Matheus, Ensemble Baroque de Nice – in which she also performs as soloist – Atalanta Fugiens and in the most prestigious venues and theatres (Musikverein, Konzerthaus in Wien, Salle Gaveau, Théatre des Champs Elysées, Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, Palau de la Musica in Barcellona). She recorded for important European labels as Decca, Teldec, L'oiseau Lyre, Harmonia Mundi, Sony. Laura Corolla plays on a Castagneri violin of 1730.
