October 9, 2013 | Marcello Di Lisa on Classic Voice

Partiture perdute

by Daniela Zacconi (n. 64, September-October 2013)

NORDDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK, APRIL 8, 2013 - CD OF THE WEEK
“Conductor and pianist Marcello Di Lisa sets off a magnificent firework of sound. [...] A powerful breath of fresh air from the musicians of the Concerto de’ Cavalieri blows away the dust of centuries from Mozart’s Serenades and Divertimenti. The result is an exciting album of music we thought we knew well, until now.”

original text: “Ein pompöses klangliches Feuerwerk entzündet der Ensembleleiter und Pianist Marcello Di Lisa. [...]

Marcello Di Lisa, Filolog Muzyczny

by Aleksander Laskowski

"Musisz koniecznie poznać Marcella – dźwięczny głos Gemmy Bertagnolli brzmiał dobitnie i słodko zarazem – jego zespół należy obecnie do najciekawszych we Włoszech.

Marcello Di Lisa
and the Concerto De’ Cavalieri

by Bertil Van Boer - Issue 36:3 (Jan/Feb 2013) of Fanfare Magazine

Concerto de’ Cavalieri, and its director, Marcello Di Lisa, were introduced to Fanfare readers in 2011. Since then, the ensemble has continued down a path that is both unusual and exciting, reviving music by Neapolitan and Roman composers that has long been neglected. The group gives vigorous and lively performances, following historically informed performance practice, which relies on Di Lisa’s scholarship. His unique background in Greek and Latin Philology has allowed the ensemble to move in a variety of interesting directions. It is now one of Italy’s most vibrant and exciting groups dedicated to period-instrument performance of 18th century music.

[...] This is a fabulous disc, and not only supports the reputation of Pergolesi, but also practically begs for this group to do the entire repertory uncut. This is a must have as a great example of the “wow” factor."
